How To Make your Training Engaging, Exciting And Effective!

Do you ever have a nagging feeling that your training isn't really grabbing people in the way you'd like?

Is some of your training starting to get a bit repetitive, a bit uninspired, a bit ( dare I say it? ) ...DULL?

Do you feel it needs something extra to bring it to life, something to get your learners sitting up and paying attention?

Don't worry, we all get to that point at times, when we don't seem to have any new ideas. We're delivering the same old material in the same old way and even we are starting to get a bit tired of it.

Well, help is at hand!

After the 1 day Lively Learning Workshop, you'll be able to:

  • inject life into the driest content ( I used to train people in Tax Law - try that for a challenge! )
  • engage and interest any group of learners ( even the " prisoners " who don't want to be there )
  • make your training more memorable and effective
  • use activity, great visuals and humour to get people's attention and help them remember

You'll go away " buzzing with ideas " - as one participant said - with new enthusiasm, energy and confidence!

The workshop will give you a thorough understanding of how to make any training session effective and engaging.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced trainer, you'll take away new ideas and techniques guaranteed to improve your performance.

The workshop reveals:

  • how adults learn and retain information
  • how their learning styles differ and
  • how you can make your training appeal to everyone

It also gives you practical tips to help you get people enthusiastic about learning and then keep them involved and interested throughout.

" Thank you, I have attended several sessions for training trainers and this was by far the most effective, presented in a very entertaining way. "

Some of the problems you'll be able to solve after the workshop

" The material I have to use is so dry, it's a boring subject. I don't know how to bring it to life. "

You'll learn how to take any content and deliver it in a way which engages and interests your learners. After all, anyone can deliver dry material in a boring way, you want to be the one who knows how to spice it up, to make it gripping and real.

You need to know how to get information across in ways which appeal to different senses and which get people active and keep their interest. You also need to know how to use visual aids successfully to stimulate learning ( and that doesn't mean PowerPoint slides with lots of words on ). This workshop will show you how to do that.

" I'm sure they forget most of what they've learned as soon as they walk out of the door. What else can I do to make it stick? "

Unfortunately, a lot of the information people receive on training courses is left behind when they leave the room. Or, as my mother used to say, " In one ear and out the other. " That's often because they were never very involved or interested in the first place. Using the methods you'll learn at this workshop, you can be confident that your learners will retain more and use more of what they've learned.

" I was asked to do some training because I know a lot about the subject, but I haven't had any training myself in how to do it. "

It's very common that people who are technical experts are asked to train others. That's how I got involved in training myself years ago. But, just because you know a subject, that doesn't mean you know how to teach it to other people. This workshop will give you a crash course in how to train effectively, using interactive methods and based on the most up - to - date understanding of how people learn.

What the workshop will cover

 How People Learn

  • what all adults bring with them to the training room - you MUST understand this or you'll be struggling from the start
  • how to overcome people's barriers to learning
  • ways to turn reluctant " prisoners " into enthusiastic learners
  • the learning cycle - what you need to know about it - and why - and how to build it into your training
  • learning styles - how people learn differently - and how to make your training appeal to everyone

 Lively Learning Techniques

  • what you absolutely need to cover right at the start
  • how to engage peopple from the beginning and keep them with you until the end
  • how to make your material memorable
  • how to keep people active and involved through games, activities and discussions
  • how to get a response from a quiet group
  • how to design exciting and memorable visual aids which support the learning ( don't get me started on PowerPoint! )

Yes, it's a busy day, packed with information and ideas!

What else is included?

This is more than just a 1 day workshop, there's actually a 3 stage process.

Before the workshop:

  • discussions and pre - course questionnaires to find out more about you and what you want to learn at the workshop

  • further materials sent out in the following weeks to reinforce and supplement what was learned so that you can remember more and apply it

Just to recap...

  • help people to take in and remember the material more effectively
